Since the opening of The Well in September 2013, we have been able to launch new ministries and one of these is our new outreach to girls in our community.  Right after our opening, we started two dance classes a week with about 16 girls enrolled.  In the new year, the dance classes exploded and tripled with six dance classes a week and nearly 50 girls enrolled in contemporary, hip-hop, ballet, lyrical and even a precious “Peanuts Class” with the younger girls.  Most of our little dancers live in the Tenderloin neighborhood.  At The Well, we are working to build community, self-esteem and a love for the arts, which are all tools for equipping these girls to withstand the dangers present in an inner city neighborhood.

Each week we have the special privilege of providing these dance classes to these girls, aging anywhere from two to thirteen years old, to help them learn how to dance, to encourage them, but mostly to show them the love of Christ, which transforms lives.  We believe that this powerful love and a deep understanding of what it means to identify as the beloved daughter of Christ will empower these girls to walk forward in the life that God has for them.
