On August 20, 2011 Because Justice Matters hosted their first family outreach. The event took place at the Tenderloin Children's Playground (570 Ellis St., San Francisco CA) and reached out to low income, immigrant families that live in the neighborhood. The event was a Family Fun Day, featuring tons of fun activities such as, face painting, a bounce house, games, balloon animals, and cotton candy for everyone! Each child also received a free healthy shake and a goodie bag filled with school supplies for the upcoming school year. Our goals for this outreach were to:
